This morning!
Lydia has grown quite a bit! She fits perfectly in to a size 6 mth outfits, with not a bit of spare room! I had to run out to the store lastnight and buy her some clothes! I bought 9 month size and she wears them well! All the clothes I was given for her to wear at 9 mths are summer clothes. She won't be 9 months old till JULY!
Lydia has also slept for up to 6 hours straight a few times. I've woken up those mornings and felt almost rested!!! She has been smiling more and more and started cooing. I love when I will be talking with Andy and I'll look down at her and see her staring at me with a huge smile. She is so wonderful!
8 weeks old!
David is doing well. His eye looks SOOOOO much better. It's almost looking white again. The Doctor says we will have to start patching his left eye so his brain will be forced to use his weaked right eye more. We'll keep it patched for a few hours a day. He's going to HATE it and so am I, but we'll do what we have to. Hopefully he won't rip his patch off too often and it won't break out his sensitive skin.
David is saying new words every day. Hat, book, Rebekah, on, off, popcorn, Luke, and what are a few. He has also added names to the end of his "I love you." Lastnight he randomly turned to Andy and said "I love you Dada". I felt such a flood of emotion. He's so wonderful and we have been so blessed.
David is into EVERYTHING his little hands can reach! I'm almost glad he can't walk yet. I'll have to baby proof a level higher when he starts! David has stood for a few seconds and likes to barely hold on when we practice walking him. It's coming soon. Hopefully by his second birthday he'll be up and about.

Merry Christmas
David's 2nd Christmas! It's a blessing beyond understanding!
Grandmama made Luke an orange blanket! It's his favorite color! It's Grandmama's least favorite color due to the orange couch they had for WAY too many years!
Jentrey LOVES cooking with me!
Anthony is thrilled to be becoming a cub scout in just two weeks!
Lydia was adorable as usual!
We had our traditional cinnamon rolls!
Andy spent over two hours building Luke's Harry Potter Lego castle!
Umpa brought the older four airplanes!
Luke made a Lego grave yard. "Harry Potter blew them up!" Here he is biting one's head off!
Umpa spent lots of time singing to Lydia.
Caleb's gifts are getting more and more pricey the older he gets...but he sure was happy!
Merry Christmas!

Blessing?
We anticipated having family come up this weekend for Lydia's baby blessing. What we did not anticipate was the stomach flu! Unfortunately we had to post pone the blessing. Due to the holidays we may not be able to have her blessed with family present, for a few more weeks! Because Lydia surprised us by being born weighing 10 lbs and having a healthy appetite, she won't fit in to her special white dress for much longer! My mom had the brilliant idea of taking Lydia's pictures in the dress before her blessing day. That way, even if the dress won't button up on the actual blessing day and we have to slip it mostly on and wrap her in a blanket to hid the fact, I will still have beautiful pictures of her in the dress. So here are our fake-out blessing dress photos!
Just so Lydia knows, I had every intention of making this beautiful dress. Unfortunately, I am not that talented. Also, I am blessed with so many other children I lack the time to apply what I do know. My mom was planing to come help me not mess it up totally, but after I cut out the dress and sewed the under slip, it was evident to all involved that I wasn't going to have the time to make the dress. My wonderful mother offered to finish it for me. I want you to know sweet Lydia, that Jentrey helped cut out your blessing dress and went shopping with me and Grandmama to find the perfect fabric. Lots of love and sacrifice went in to each stitch as Grandmama took her time to make it for you. Thank you so much Mom! I'll treasure it forever!

Christmas
I just need to blog about three awesome things!
One: The night before David's procedure a woman from church dropped off 5 casseroles! Yes! I now have dinner for those crazy days! We've used two already!!!! I don't know if she realises what a timely blessing she is to my family. She said it was a baby gift! What a wise wise woman! I bless her name each time I open my freezer!
Two: I've had to swallow my pride since having David. Things at home aren't as organized or clean as I would like them to be. I look back two years and think "what was I thinking when I always thought things were messy and I just couldn't keep up." Well, we have had a few people stop by the past few months without calling. For some reason it tend to be Monday mornings or late evenings (our messiest times.) I have taken a deep breath and opened the door! One of my good friends stopped by this week. The kids opened the door (knowing who it was.) I was laying in bed covered with a sleeping David and a nursing Lydia. She tapped at my bedroom door talked with me and then did my dishes. Thank you sooo much! One less thing for me to figure out how to get done and a fabulous conversation!
Three: A lady dropped by tonight selling Christmas wreaths for front doors. The was holding a lovely wreath. She asked if I wanted to buy it and told me a very affordable price. I told her it was a beautiful wreath. Then I told her that we had just had our 6th baby and things were tight this Christmas, so I couldn't. After I reiterated that it was beautiful she shocked me when she said, "Let me give this to you." I of course declined numerous times. She added "The Lord gives to those who give and I need him to give to me, so I best be giving!" I have a gorgeous Christmas wreath hanging on my front door, a tear in my eye and amazing gratitude for people like her. I pray she gets all the blessings she needs!

Looking good!
| DAY AFTER |
Life is looking good! David had a procedure on the 2nd. He had a big time cold but they still managed to do it. They made it so he wouldn't have to be intubated (breathing tube down his throat). Being intubated could've caused all sorts of issues, as it makes the air way swell and irritates the lungs. David did beautifully for the procedure and they were able to remove all the stitches they had placed while doing his cornea transplant 6 weeks ago. Yeah! That means we shouldn't have to do this again!!!
| DAY 4 (showing bruised eye) |
The not so good news we received was that his cornea is trying to perforate (make a whole) in the same spot as it did last time. The doctors are baffled! Why, when you cut out a perforated cornea and replace it with a donor cornea would the doner cornea start to perforate in the exact same place? They have him on more mega antibiotics and placed a contact over his cornea. They hope this will help it heal properly. If it perforates instead of healing we are back to square one..him needing a cornea transplant AGAIN! Why did we not try the contact before the initial cornea transplant?..Oh cause they said it wouldn't work on a baby. Prayers Please!!!
As for little Liddy Bug.. She is doing great. She has a fair case of baby acne. I call her my beautiful little pimple face! She is just so cute! Her nights have been mixed up for the past month but they finally seem to have straitened out the past few days. Hopefully I haven't just jinxed myself with a horrible night tonight!! She still doesn't like to go to bed till midnight but I'm hoping that will resolve soon too. In the mean time I am trying to enjoy the time I have with her when nobody else needs me for anything! I just hold her close and stare at her trying not to let my mind wonder to all the nights I missed with David.
