My little Rocker Boy, Luke!

The long awaited...How G-buttons work!

This is David's Mic-key button before! Note the stained color and broken pull.  The valve inside was also busted causing it to leak milk when the pull was open.

I deflated the bottom using a the blue port and a syringe, then pulled it out of his tummy.  I then slipped the new one in a inflated it with water.  You have to wiggle it around a little to find the hole in his actually stomach, then wipe off any stomach juices that may have spilled out onto his skin before you fully inserted the button. Not all buttons work like this but the Mic-Key does!  I'll show you how!

Here I am putting the siring in the blue port.

Here I am squeezing in 5 mls of water.  the little balloon of water is what keeps the button from slipping out of David's belly.

So pretty! A nice clean new button!

And it didn't hurt a bit!

On a side note,  David was scheduled for surgery on his tear ducts yesterday.  We decided to cancel the surgery since one has already opened beautifully and we anticipate it taking just a few months more or the other to open.  This pic is of David first thing this morning (after I changed his button).  His right eye had been sealed shut but had gradually opened up as he played..still a goopy mess though. : )  Our next tasks of the day were meds, food, then cleaning and massaging that tear duct!
